Borrego solar system may save SDCOE $300k annually

San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) provides a variety of services for the 42 school districts, 124 charter schools, and five community college districts in the county. Now they offer electrical savings for themselves in the form of solar power. In partnership with SDCOE, Borrego Solar Systems celebrated the operation of a 1.05-MW solar carport system at the COE’s main campus on Linda Vista Drive. The solar power system is expected to save SDCOE $282,000 each year and provide enough energy to meet approximately 60% of the facility’s electricity demand.
