Why conservative Christians want to take over a Southern California school board

It was draft night time in Murrieta. However, the picks weren’t athletes. Instead, a Temecula Valley church recently hosted an “endorsement draft” of conservative Christians who plan to seek a seat on college boards in Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Murrieta and Temecula this November.

The kickoff rally, which featured a hype video set to the “NFL on Fox” theme music, was the opening salvo of a new offensive in southwest Riverside County’s election wars.

It’s a part of a nationwide development that’s turned public faculties into political battlefields over COVID-19 mandates, LGBTQ acceptance, and when students should study race.
